CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES
The minutes of the Economic Development and Sustainable Business Committee
meeting held on Wednesday, 2 November 2005 to be confirmed as a true and correct
record.
EXTRAORDINARY BUSINESS Section 46A(7) of the Local
Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 (as amended)
states:"An item that is not on the
agenda for a meeting may be dealt with at that meeting if-
- The local authority by
resolution so decides; and
- The presiding member explains
at the meeting at a time when it is open to the public,-
- The reason why the item is not on the
agenda; and
- The reason why the discussion of the item
cannot be delayed until a subsequent meeting."
Section 46A(7A) of the Local
Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 (as amended)
states:
"Where an item is not on the
agenda for a meeting,-
- That item may be discussed at
that meeting if-
- That item is a minor matter relating to the
general business of the local authority; and
- The presiding member explains at the
beginning of the meeting, at a time when it is open to the public, that
the item will be discussed at the meeting; but
- no resolution, decision, or
recommendation may be made in respect of that item except to refer that
item to a subsequent meeting of the local authority for further
discussion."
PUBLIC FORUM
A period of time (approximately 20 minutes) is set aside for members of the
public to address the meeting on matters within its delegated authority. A
maximum of 5 minutes per item is allowed, following which there may be questions
from members.
At the close of the agenda no requests to speak had been received.

stakeholders, Alison Wilson Adviser Sustainable Industry, Annette Lusk
Senior Operator Sustainable Industry and Rachel Dupree, will be in attendance to
give a presentation on their roles and the possibility for joint work, for the
information of the Committee.
Recommending that Alison Wilson Adviser Sustainable Industries, Annette
Lusk Senior Operator Sustainable Industries and Rachel Dupree Senior Manager
Sustainable Industries, be thanked for their presentation.

MAYOR'S TASKFORCE FOR JOBS INITIATIVES

Providing a report on the initiatives for the Mayor's Taskforce for Jobs and
budget implications, for the information of the Committee.
Recommending that the Committee approve the following recommendations and
forward to the December Annual Plan Direction Setting Committee.
- Endorse organisational support for the Mayor's Taskforce for Jobs
initiatives.
- Support funding a civic industry skills graduation ceremony
($19,600 for 2005/06 and ongoing).
- Support funding the insulation/employment project ($40,000 for
2005/06 and $80,000 for 2006/07 and 2007/08).
- Support further investigation into operating a cadetship programme
for graduates at Auckland City.
- Support further investigation of a youth transition service for
Auckland City.
- Support funding a part time project manager to implement the
Mayor's Taskforce for Jobs initiatives ($25,000 per annum).
