    That the minutes of the Environment, Heritage and Urban Form Committee meeting held on Friday, 5 May 2006 be confirmed as a true and correct record.

  4. Top PUBLIC FORUM

    4.1. PUBLIC FORUM - UPDATE ON GREAT BARRIER ISLAND CHARITABLE TRUST - LIZ WESTBROOK AND FENELLA CHRISTIAN

    A. That Liz Westbrook and Fenella Christian be thanked for their presentation on the work of the Great Barrier Island Charitable Trust.

    B. That the matters raised in the presentation be referred to the General Manager, City Development for reporting back to the Committee.

    4.2. Public Forum - Archaeological Impact of State Highway 20 - Peter McCurdy and Robyn Mason

    A. That Peter McCurdy and Robyn Mason be thanked for their presentation regarding the archaeological impact of State Highway 20 on the Star Mill, Waterview.

    B. That as a part of the assessment of the impact of State Highway 20, the Manager, Transport and Strategy's report include heritage values and the impact on Oakley Creek.

    C. That the presentation be referred to the Manager, Transport and Strategy and City Heritage Manager and any other relevant officers.

    4.3. Public Forum - Wendy John - State Highway 20

    A. That Wendy John, on behalf of Friends of Oakley Creek, be thanked for her presentation regarding the impact of State Highway 20 on Oakley Creek.

    B. That as a part of the assessment of the impact of State Highway 20, the Manager, Transport and Strategy's report include heritage values, ecological values and the impact on Oakley Creek including its context (including the status of Oakley Creek).

    C. That the Manager, Democracy Services arrange a visit to the Oakley Creek area for councillors who wish to view the stream.

  5. Top REPORTS PENDING/REQUESTED

    That the report of the Acting Committee Manager dated 23 June 2006 be received.

  6. Top BOARD MEMBERS' REPORT - EILEEN EVANS - APRIL 2006

    A. That the report of the Board Member Eileen Evans dated April 2006 be received.

    B. That a letter from the Chair be sent to Auckland Regional Council, Auckland Regional Transport Authority, Fullers and Stagecoach regarding the fume emissions from vehicles and ferries.

    C. That the Waiheke Community Board be informed of this recommendation.

  7. Top PRIVATE PLAN CHANGE BY AUCKLAND CITY TO AUCKLAND REGIONAL PLAN COASTAL - RAKINO ISLAND MOORING MANAGEMENT AREAS

    A. That the Environment, Heritage and Urban Form Committee confirm the policy of providing mooring areas for Rakino Island residents.

    B. That the report be referred to the Planning and Regulatory Committee.

  8. Top STATE OF THE ENVIRONMENT REPORT 2004/2005

    A. That the information contained in Appendix One of this report be endorsed for publication in fulfilment of council's obligation under section 35(2a) of the Resource Management Act 1991.

    B. That after consultation with affected groups, the officer report back to the Committee in February 2007 with recommendations for action in the areas of:

    • Air quality: Vehicle emissions

    • Transport

    • Water quality: Zinc contamination

    • Waste: Reducing food and recyclable waste to landfill

    • Contaminated land: Site classification and information management.

    C. That the comprehensive State of the Environment Report be published every five years in line with the release of national census information and summary updates continue to be provided each year in the intervening years between major reviews.

    D. That the State of the Environment Report be forwarded to the Mayoral Task Force for Sustainability for their information.

    E. That the State of the Environment Report, together with the appropriate educational tools be made available to schools and other similar groups.

    F. That the report 'Our Changing Environment: Auckland City's State of the Environment' be forwarded to relevant regional and central agencies.

  9. Top UPDATE ON THE DRAFT MAUNGAWHAU-MT EDEN CONSERVATION PLAN

    That the Environment, Heritage and Urban Form Committee endorse the process and timeframes for developing a final Conservation Plan as outlined in the report of the Senior Open Space Planner dated 16 June 2006 and culminating in a final draft, be reported to the Environment, Heritage and Urban Form Committee's 4 August 2006 meeting.

  10. Top UPDATE ON MAUNGAWHAU-MT EDEN MANAGEMENT PLAN

    That the Environment, Heritage and Urban Form Committee endorse the process and timeframes for developing a final Management Plan for Maungawhau-Mt Eden as outlined in the report of the Senior Open Space Planner dated 16 June 2006 and culminating in Committee approval of the plan in December 2006.

  11. Top VOLCANIC FEATURES PROGRAMME UPDATE REPORT - MAUNGAWHAU

    That the report of the Programme Manager - Volcanic Cones dated 13 June 2006 be received.

    CARRIED
