  6. Top CITY PLANNING QUARTERLY REPORT

    That the report of the Manager City Planning to the Committee on key achievements in environmental, heritage and urban form matters for the last quarter be received.

  7. Top END OF FIRST YEAR PROGRESS REPORT ON MAYORAL TASK FORCE ON URBAN DESIGN ACTION PROGRAMME

    1. That a work programme for Year 2 actions identified by the Mayoral Task Force on Urban Design be reported to the Committee in September 2006.
    2. That the General Manager City Development and Group Manager City Planning be thanked for a very strong year in implementing the visions of the Urban Design Task Force in its first year in Auckland.

  8. Top BARRIERS AND INCENTIVES FOR SUSTAINABLE BUILDING

    That Beacon Pathway's report of July 2006 which identifies actions to overcome barriers and improve incentives to sustainable building in Auckland City be considered:

    1. In Auckland City's input to the review of the Building Code currently underway;
    2. In the forthcoming review of the Isthmus District Plan;
    3. By the Taskforce on Sustainability;
    4. In the development of Auckland City's action plan for reducing greenhouse gas emissions under the Communities for Climate Protection milestone framework.

  9. Top DRAFT NEW ZEALAND COASTAL POLICY STATEMENT

    That Council submits a response to the draft New Zealand Coastal Policy Statement when it becomes available for public consultation and submissions in 2007.

    That the report of the Programme Manager: Volcanic Cones dated 18 July 2006 be received.

  11. Top DRAFT MANAGEMENT PLAN FOR MAUNGAWHAU MT EDEN DOMAIN

    1. That the Environment, Heritage and Urban Form Committee endorse the Draft Maungawhau - Mt Eden Management Plan for public notification.
    2. That the Chair of the Environment, Heritage and Urban Form Committee appoint a hearing panel (including Independent Commissioners) to hear submissions and make a recommendation to Council on the final changes to the Maungawhau - Mt Eden Management Plan.

  12. Top MAUNGAWHAU CONSERVATION PLAN

    That the draft conservation plan for Maungawhau - Mt Eden as presented by CFG Heritage Consultants on 21 July 2006, be endorsed as the Final Draft Conservation Plan for Maungawhau - Mt Eden.

  13. Top MAUNGAWHAU MT EDEN VISITOR CENTRE OPTIONS

    1. That officers investigate the establishment of a geo-cultural visitor/interpretive experience on Maungawhau directed towards becoming a world-class interpretative space presenting Aucklanders' historical and contemporary relationship to the City's volcanic landscape, harbour and history.
    2. That the Environment, Heritage and Urban Form committee endorses the developed site associated with Langton's as the principle area of focus for preparatory investigative work for a visitor/interpretive/cultural facility at Maungawhau (although not excluding further preparatory technical investigations across other sites).

  14. Top OWAIRAKA - MT ALBERT DOMAIN IMPROVEMENTS

    1. That the Committee approve a project to develop and implement new interpretive signage on Owairaka Domain to a value of $50,000 to be funded from the 2006/07 open space & volcanic cone targeted rate.
    2. That the Committee approve a project to develop a Master Plan for Owairaka Domain to a value of $25,000 to be funded from the 2006/2007 open space & volcanic cone targeted rate.

  15. Top CHANGE OF MEETING DATE FOR OCTOBER 2006 MEETING

    That the Committee agree to a change of date for the October 2006 meeting.

  16. Top NOTICE OF MOTION - INTER-COUNCIL WORKING PARTY ON GENETICALLY MODIFIED ORGANISMS

    The Chairman moved:

    That the Environment, Heritage and Urban Form Committee make a recommendation to council:

    1. That Cr Abel is appointed as the Auckland City Council representative on the inter-council working party on genetically modified organisms with the alternate to be appointed by the Chair.
    2. That the Chief Executive be requested to appoint an Auckland City Council representative on the inter-council working party on genetically modified organisms.
    3. That Council notify Dr Kerry Grundy, inter-council working party on genetically modified organisms co-ordinator, of the above appointments.

    Cr Sefuiva moved the following amendment to resolution B.

    1. That the Chief Executive officer offer support to the Council's representative on the working party.

    2. That the Chief Executive officer offer support to the Council's representative on the working party.

  17. Top COUNCILLOR RAFFILL'S REPORT

    That Councillor Raffill's verbal report from the Avondale Community Board on the formulation of a policy and guide for planting of new trees in Residential Zone 6 be received.
