2006/07 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PARTNERSHIP PROGRAMME SUMMARY
|
Mik Smellie |
|
|
Community Engagement Team Manager |
9 July 2007 |
Providing the
Committee with a report outlining the work programmes that have been implemented
by the community development team of Recreation and Community Services Group
(now Arts Community & Recreation Services) over the 2006-2007 year. There has
been extensive progress on the interfaith programme, continued development of
stakeholder relationships and some innovative civics/community leadership
programmes as well as steady progress with a number of activities focussed on
ethnic communities (e.g. cultural, safety, community mapping) and ongoing
progress with and expansion of neighbourhood activities. An innovative
strengthening networks programme has proved popular and successful. Ward based
networks have been revived and in some cases reinstated, and all community board
areas now have active community networks.
Recommending that
the report of the Community Engagement Team Manager, dated June 2007, be
received.
