  2. Top CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES

    The minutes of the Partnerships Committee meeting held on Monday, 14 May 2007 to be confirmed as a true and correct record.

  3. Top EXTRAORDINARY BUSINESS

    Section 46A(7) of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 (as amended) states:

    "An item that is not on the agenda for a meeting may be dealt with at that meeting if-

    (a)

    The local authority by resolution so decides; and

    (b)

    The presiding member explains at the meeting at a time when it is open to the public,-

     

    (i)

    The reason why the item is not on the agenda; and

     

    (ii)

    The reason why the discussion of the item cannot be delayed until a subsequent meeting."

    Section 46A(7A) of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 (as amended) states:

    "Where an item is not on the agenda for a meeting,-

    (a)

    That item may be discussed at that meeting if-

     

    (i)

    That item is a minor matter relating to the general business of the local authority; and

     

    (ii)

    The presiding member explains at the beginning of the meeting, at a time when it is open to the public, that the item will be discussed at the meeting; but

    (b)

    no resolution, decision, or recommendation may be made in respect of that item except to refer that item to a subsequent meeting of the local authority for further discussion."

  4. Top PUBLIC FORUM

    A period of time (approximately 20 minutes) is set aside for members of the public to address the meeting on matters within its delegated authority. A maximum of 5 minutes per item is allowed, following which there may be questions from members.

  6. Top 2006/07 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PARTNERSHIP PROGRAMME SUMMARY

    Providing the Committee with a report outlining the work programmes that have been implemented by the community development team of Recreation and Community Services Group (now Arts Community & Recreation Services) over the 2006-2007 year. There has been extensive progress on the interfaith programme, continued development of stakeholder relationships and some innovative civics/community leadership programmes as well as steady progress with a number of activities focussed on ethnic communities (e.g. cultural, safety, community mapping) and ongoing progress with and expansion of neighbourhood activities. An innovative strengthening networks programme has proved popular and successful. Ward based networks have been revived and in some cases reinstated, and all community board areas now have active community networks.

    Recommending that the report of the Community Engagement Team Manager, dated June 2007, be received.

  7. Top ASIA PACIFIC CITIES SUMMIT

    Reporting on the Asia Pacific Cities Summit in Brisbane to be held 31 August to 3 September 2007. The focus for this critical summit in 2007 is developing business growth and economic outcomes for participating cities. Auckland City Council has traditionally supported the Asia Pacific Cities Summit as it provides valuable lessons in best practice and key sister city networking opportunities with political and business leaders in the region.

    Recommending that the Committee nominate a representative to attend the Asia Pacific Cities Summit in Brisbane from 31 August to 3 September 2007.

  8. Top PACIFIC ISLANDS BOARD - AUCKLAND CITY COUNCIL MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING AND FUNDING AGREEMENT

    Providing the Committee with a report outlining the draft memorandum of understanding and funding agreement between Auckland City Council and the Pacific Islands Board for its approval.

    The Pacific Islands Board - Auckland City was established in July 2006 and became an incorporated society in November 2006. The Board's final constitution and business plan were presented to the February 2007 Partnerships Committee and have now been adopted. The memorandum of understanding and funding agreement outlines the role and responsibilities and funding obligations of both parties. The communications guidelines have been developed and included as an appendix in the memorandum of understanding.

    Recommending that the Committee approve the Pacific Islands Board Auckland City Council Memorandum of Understanding and Funding Agreement and that the Committee delegate the approval of the annual work programme to the Group Manager, Arts Community and Recreation policy.
