Cr Hinchcliff welcomed members and gave a brief overview of the direction for the Partnership Committee.

    There was no extraordinary business.

    There were no requests to speak in public forum.

    That items 4, 5. 6 and 7 be considered together at this time.

  4. Top PRESENTATION TO PARTNERSHIPS COMMITTEE

    [ATTACHMENT 4]

    1. That Catherine Taylor, Caroline Lassiter, Karen Lyons and Mark Vinall be thanked for their presentation to the Committee.
    2. That a workshop be arranged in February 2005, for members to discuss the future progress and direction of the committee.

  5. Top THE ROLE OF THE STRATEGIC DEVELOPMENT GROUP

    That the report of the Group Manager Strategic Development entitled "The role of the Strategic Development Group" dated 2 December 2004 be received.

    CARRIED

  6. Top THE ROLE OF INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS AT AUCKLAND CITY

    That the report of the International Affairs Manager Economic Development entitled "The role of International Affairs at Auckland City" dated 26 November 2004 be received and that the Committee commends the work being done in this area.

    CARRIED

  7. Top BRIEFING REPORT ON EDUCATION PORTFOLIO

    1. That the report of the Economic Strategy Manager and the Group Manager Economic Development entitled "Briefing report on Education Portfolio" dated 16 November 2004 be received and that the Economic Strategy Manager be thanked for her presentation.

    CARRIED

    1. That the suggested work programme noted in section 3.4 be endorsed.

    CARRIED

    Note: During item 7 The Rotary International Exchange Students paid a visit to the Partnership Committee. They introduced themselves and stated what country they were from, or what country they were heading to. Cr Hinchcliff welcomed the group, thanked them for coming and wished them well for the future.

  8. Top LEGISLATION OF STRATEGIC SIGNIFICANCE

    1. That the report of the Strategic Manager External Relations entitled "Legislation of Strategic Significance" dated 3 December 2004 be received.
    2. That the Committee note the written submission made by the Auckland City Council to this Bill on the 18th November 2004.

    CARRIED

    There being no further business the Chairman declared the meeting closed at 11.15am.
