  3. Top PUBLIC FORUM

    3.1. PACIFIC PEOPLE'S PARTICIPATION PROJECT - REVEREND ASORA AMOSA

    That the Reverend Asora Amosa be thanked for his presentation on the Pacific People's Participation Project.

    3.2. PACIFIC PEOPLE'S PARTICIPATION PROJECT - MRS TOFA FIALAUIA TOAILOA-AMITUANAI

    That Mrs Tofa Fialauia Toailoa-Amituanai be thanked for her presentation on the Pacific People's Participation Project.

    CARRIED

    3.3. PACIFIC PEOPLE'S PARTICIPATION PROJECT – BRUCE McCARTHY AND MANOGI TAVELIA

    That Bruce McCarthy and Manogi Tavelia be thanked for their presentation on the Pacific People's Participation Project.

    CARRIED

  4. Top PACIFIC PEOPLES PARTICIPATION PROJECT

    1. That the Committee endorse Option one as follows:

      Build the Council's organisational capacity through the development and implementation of a participation policy and establish a Pacific People's advisory board.

    2. That in accordance with Option one, the committee recommend to council that an advisory board be established by April 2006.
    3. That the chairman of the Partnerships Committee, deputy chairman of the Partnerships Committee, deputy mayor and Councillor Leighton be appointed to work alongside the community working party to nurture and advise on the implementation of the scheme approved by council.
    4. That, upon the establishment of a Pacific peoples advisory board, members of the Ngati Whatua o Orakei Maori Trust Board be advised, for their information.

    CARRIED
