1. APOLOGIES

   That the apologies from Councillor Scott Milne and Councillor Vern Walsh and the apology for lateness from Councillor Linda Leighton be received.

2. CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES

   That the minutes of the Partnerships Committee meetings held on Monday, 14 November 2005 and Wednesday, 14 December 2005 be confirmed as true and correct records.

   CARRIED

3. EXTRAORDINARY BUSINESS

   There was no extraordinary business.

4. PUBLIC FORUM

   4.1. JENNIFER SHENNAN - REGARDING THE BANABANS OF RABI ISLAND, FIJI

   1. That Jennifer Shennan be thanked for her presentation to the Committee on the Banaban people.
   2. That officers be requested to write a report addressing the issues raised by Ms Shennan in her report, specifically the existing relationship between the Banabans and Waiheke Island.

   CARRIED

   That items 6 and 7 be taken at this point.

5. REPORTS PENDING

   That the report of the Committee Manager dated 13 March 2006 be received noting the verbal update to the committee on the disability work being carried out by Council a full report for which is mentioned in row 6 and noting the reports referred to in Rows 4 and 5 have a target date of May 2006.

   That Hamburg and Ho Chi Minh city be selected for further consideration as strategic alliances for Auckland, and the mayor and chairperson of the Partnerships Committee, or their representative(s), travel to Hamburg in 2006 to hold further discussions.

7. UPDATE REPORT OF THE INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS DIVISION

   1. That the report of the International Affairs Manager dated 1 March 2006 be received.
   2. That a Councillor of the Partnerships Committee or a representative attend the Sister Cities Conference in Wellington from 9-12 May 2006.

   The Chairman tabled letters from the NZ Embassy in Jakarta and from Michael Chilton of Ministry of Forestry and Trade, copies are attached to the official minutes.

8. STUDY AUCKLAND BI-ANNUAL UPDATE JULY 2005-FEBRUARY 2006

   1. That the Study Auckland Bi-Annual Update July 2005 - February 2006 report of the Education Policy Analyst dated 1 March 2006 be received.
   2. That Roger Shew, Manager, Study Auckland be thanked for his presentation to the Partnerships Committee on 13 March 2006.

   1. That the Partnerships Committee notes the update provided by officers on the following:

   2. That Judy Collins, Pam Bourke and Minnie Baragwanath be thanked for their updates.
