Appointment of Independent Planning Commissioner(s) to hear and determine an
application to demolish part of the existing building at 51-53 Albert Street,
Auckland Central (leaving only the Albert Street character façade) and construct
a 46 storey residential tower. Two cafes and a through-site link are also
proposed. Six levels of basement parking will provide 72 residential parking
spaces, which are to be serviced by a mechanical car stacking device.
Councillors and Board Members were originally appointed as commissioners at the
Committee's meeting on 26 June 2007. As the planning report will not be ' until
early October, when Councillors will be unavailable, it is recommended that
independent commissioners be appointed in their place.
