CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES
That the minutes of the Public Art Sub-Committee meeting held on 24 August
2005 be confirmed as a true and correct record.

There was no extraordinary business.
PUBLIC FORUM
4.1. KHARTOUM PLACE ARTWORK MARGARET WILSON, REPRESENTING THE
NATIONAL COUNCIL OF WOMEN AND AUCKLAND DIOCESAN MOTHERS' UNION
Mrs Wilson spoke to her tabled presentation. She also tabled a copy of
correspondence from Marie Taylor, Chairperson of the Women's Suffrage Centennial
Committee for greater Auckland in 1992-1993.
- That Mrs Margaret Wilson be thanked for her presentation
regarding Artwork at Khartoum Place.
- That Mrs Wilson's tabled presentation be referred to the Manager
Community Planning for a response to the questions raised by her.

[ATTACHMENT 4.1]4.2 KHARTOUM PLACE ARTWORK ANNETTE PATERSON, REPRESENTING
THE NATIONAL COUNCIL OF WOMEN AND THE WOMEN'S CHRISTIAN TEMPERANCE UNION
Mrs Paterson advised she was representing Vicky Carr, President of National
Council of Women, who was unable to be present.
- That Mrs Annette Paterson be thanked for her presentation
regarding Artwork at Khartoum Place.
- That Mrs Paterson's presentation be referred to the Manager
Community Planning for a response.

PUBLIC ART TOOLKIT
- That the Public Art Toolkit report be received by the Public Art
Sub-committee, and referred to Arts Culture and Recreation for endorsement.
- That the presentation by the Arts Planner, Community Planning, be
received.
- That the sub-committee notes that the Public Art Toolkit is a
management process document, and will be publicised to internal and external
groups.
- That the sub-committee approves the use of the Public Art Toolkit
in conjunction with other related policies.

PROPOSED NIGEL BROWN ART WORK FOR TOWN HALL
- That the sub-committee endorses the proposal to install the
Nigel Brown art work Town Hall Restoration into the Town Hall, to be
located on a wall in the foyer of level two, directly opposite the lifts and
adjacent to the Reception Lounge entrance.
- That Arts Planner, Susan Brooker, be thanked for her
negotiations with Ferner Galleries and the artist to complete the installation
of the Nigel Brown art work in the Town Hall.
- That the sub-committee acknowledges Ferner Galleries' and Nigel
Brown's role in bringing the Nigel Brown art work back to the city.
CARRIED
There being no further business the Chairperson declared the meeting closed
at 11.35am
