    9 May 2006

Reporting on the results of the review conducted of the footpath policy for Auckland City which was adopted in July 2003, and due for review during the financial year ending 30 June 2006. Advising that the review has led to consideration of consistency or type of finish, treatment of vehicle crossings, application with street trees, and associated costs of construction.

Recommending the footpath policy be amended in accordance with the review findings to ensure consistency of finish, a single footpath finish, with the exception of the CBD, town centres, commercial and retail centres, business zones 2 and 3, along with premier and district parks as determined by the council's Community Planning Group.

Further recommending that in streets where replacement in exposed red chip concrete and black asphaltic concrete has begun, but is not completed, that these streets should continue to be finished in the same material for continuity.
