  2. Top CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES

    The minutes of the Works and Services Committee meeting held on Thursday 1 September 2005 to be confirmed as a true and correct record.

  3. Top EXTRAORDINARY BUSINESS

    Section 46A(7) of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 (as amended) states:

    "An item that is not on the agenda for a meeting may be dealt with at that meeting if-

    1. The local authority by resolution so decides; and
    2. The presiding member explains at the meeting at a time when it is open to the public,-
      1. The reason why the item is not on the agenda; and
      2. The reason why the discussion of the item cannot be delayed until a subsequent meeting."

    Section 46A(7A) of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 (as amended) states:

    "Where an item is not on the agenda for a meeting,-

    1. That item may be discussed at that meeting if-
      1. That item is a minor matter relating to the general business of the local authority; and
      2. The presiding member explains at the beginning of the meeting, at a time when it is open to the public, that the item will be discussed at the meeting; but
    2. no resolution, decision, or recommendation may be made in respect of that item except to refer that item to a subsequent meeting of the local authority for further discussion."
  4. Top PUBLIC FORUM

    A period of time (approximately 20 minutes) is set aside for members of the public to address the meeting on matters within its delegated authority. A maximum of 5 minutes per item is allowed, following which there may be questions from members.

    At the close of the agenda no requests to speak had been received.

  6. Top PROPOSED REGIONAL PLAN CHANGE 10

    Advising the Works and Services Committee on the 26 September 2005 the Auckland Regional Council (ARC) publicly notified proposed changes to 8, 9, and 10 of the Auckland Regional Policy Statement.

    Recommending that the Works and Services Committee establish a working party to assess the Auckland Regional Council's proposed Plan Change 10.

  7. Top 68 HUIA ROAD, PT CHEVALIER: HEARING OF OBJECTION TO NOTICE TO INSTALL STORMWATER DRAINS

    Outlining the proposed installation of stormwater drainage within the existing overland flow path at Huia Road to reduce flooding and reporting on an objection from Mr and Mrs Barker of 68 Huia Road, Pt Chevalier to the proposal to construct a public stormwater pipe through 68 Huia Road.

    Recommending:

    1. That the objection of Mr and Mrs Barker to a proposal to install a stormwater drainage in 68 Huia Road be heard.
    2. That the Works and Services Committee determines whether to abandon the works proposed or to proceed therewith with or without such alteration as it thinks fit.
