4.1. "RAIZE THA ROOF" - NANCY LAVEA
Nancy Lavea was unable to attend. Leanne Clayton gave an overview of the "Raize
Tha Roof" event proposed to be in July incorporating 4 major events: hip hop
dance, fashion design, art design and musical composition. The organisers were
seeking assistance from the Auckland City Youth Council regarding marketing,
referral and contracts.

PROJECTS
10.1 ANZAC DAY PROJECT 2006
Aritra Ray advised that Seraphina Kim was now the Team Leader for the ANZAC Day
Project.
Seraphina tabled an update on the project incorporating the following:
- She has been liaising with Margaret Bourke of the Royal New Zealand
Returned & Services' Association (RSA).
- She raised the issue of non-Youth Council members selling poppies on
Poppy Day.
- She has been discussing in-depth with Margaret regarding an idea of
creating a "tribute canvas". The canvas size will be approximately 1mx1.5m and
the background colour will be green with a red poppy on it.
- It is suggested taking the canvas to the public and getting the canvas
signed by youth and then presenting it to the museum for display.
- There is a request for more volunteers at the ANZAC day from 5-8am,
8-11am and 11-2pm to help with the serving of coffee and tea and also with the
distribution of brochures and programmes. Anyone interested in volunteering
please contact Seraphina.

10.2 LONG-TERM COUNCIL COMMUNITY PLAN (LTCCP) 2006-2016 SUBMISSION
Guanting Liu tabled the minutes of the Long-term council community plan
(LTCCP) project team and gave an overview of the project.

That the minutes of the 6 March 2006 Long-term council community plan (LTCCP)
project team meeting and the verbal update from Guanting Liu from the LTCCP
project team be received.

10.3 CONVERSE '06 PROJECT
Louise Phyn gave an overview of progress on the Converse '06 project. This
project will now be known as the "Converse Summit '06".
The summit will be a one day gathering of young people from 5th, 6th
and 7th forms from schools around Auckland (5 people from each
school). The discussion point this year will be perceptions of youth crime.
Louise advised the summit is not just in Auckland city this year. There will
also be summits in Waitakere and the North Shore.
The key note speaker talent and workshops are yet to be '.
They are proposing to hold the summit at TAPAC, adjacent to Western Springs
College on Tuesday, 16 May 2006.

10.4 CONVERSE: PHASE THREE
Sean Taylor, project member gave a verbal update regarding the development of
Converse: Phase Three project:
Converse: Phase Three project will be the projects that come out of the summit.
The Converse '06 project will be known as the "Summit".
NZ Police and AK Active are interested in the Phase Three. The Police are
interested in the template used for organising Phase Three. There will be
another meeting on Thursday, 23 March 2006.
