    That the minutes of the Auckland City Youth Council meeting held on Monday 4 December 2006, be confirmed as a true and correct record.

  3. Top EXTRAORDINARY BUSINESS

    There was no extraordinary business.

  4. Top PUBLIC FORUM

    4.1 COUNCILLOR PENNY SEFUIVA - YOUTH COUNCIL WEBSITE

    Councillor Penny Sefuiva addressed the Auckland City Youth Council regarding the Youth Council website.

    Moved:  Louise Phyn

    Seconded: Zachary Castles

    1. That Councillor Sefuiva be thanked for her presentation to the Auckland City Youth Council.
    2. That officers report to the next Youth Council meeting and Community Development and Equity Committee on:
    • What other councils are doing with regard to Youth Council websites;
    • How the websites are updated;
    • Establishment costs;
    • Ongoing operational costs.
    1. That officers meet with the Youth Council website project team prior to writing the report.
    2. That the above resolutions be referred to the Chairman Finance and Corporate Business Committee so he is aware of the project.

  5. Top ELECTION OF CHAIRMAN AND DEPUTY CHAIRMAN

    Nominations were called for the Chairperson and Deputy Chairperson roles.  A ballot was taken for both roles respectively with the results declared as follows:

    1. That Guanting Liu be declared the Chairperson.
    2. That Zachary Castles be declared the Deputy Chairperson.

    1. That the ballots be destroyed.

  6. Top COMMUNITY ADVISOR'S UPDATE

    That the report of the Community Youth Advisor, dated 7 February 2007, be received.

  7. Top NEW MEMBERS/RESIGNATION

    Moved:  Sam Beanland

    1. That the resignation from Hyo-Jung Kim be received.
    2. That the following members be invited to join the Auckland City Youth Council:

  9. Top PROJECTS:

    9.1. ANNUAL PLAN SUBMISSION

    Moved:  Guanting Liu

    Seconded:  Harriet Spratt

    1. That Jayran Mansouri, Guanting Lui, Natasha Sarkar, Fay Nelisi, and Andrew Harland-Smith be appointed to develop the Auckland City Youth Council's submission to the Annual Plan and report back to the May 2007 Auckland City Youth Council meeting.
    2. That the May meeting of the Auckland City Youth Council be moved forward one week to 14 May 2007, to allow time for the Auckland City Youth Council Annual Plan submission to be approved.
    3. That the Youth Council note The Youth Forum will be held 30 April 2007.

    9.2. ANZAC DAY PROJECT 2007

    Seconded:  Clara Kim

    That Vivian Clarke, Clara Kim, Harriet Spratt, Olivia Boddy and Zachary Castles be appointed to progress the Auckland City Youth Council ANZAC Day Project 2007.

    CARRIED

    9.3. CONVERSE 07

    Secretarial Note:

    Items 9.3 and 9.4 were considered together after advice had been received that the Converse 07 local project would become embodied in the total Converse Project

    Moved:  Guanting Liu

    Seconded:  Kate Borensen

    That Clara Kim, Salim Siddiqui, Brooke Duffield, Aritra Ray, Sam Beanland, Olivia Boddy, Zachary Castles, Danielle Duffield, Dexter Henderson, Sophia Johnson, Seraphina Kim and Kate Boersen be appointed to progress the Auckland City Youth Council Converse Regional Project 2007.

    CARRIED

    There being no further business the Chairman declared the meeting closed at 6:26 pm.
