2. CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES

   That the minutes of the Auckland City Youth Council meeting held on Monday, 14 May 2007 be confirmed as a true and correct record.

3. EXTRAORDINARY BUSINESS

   There was no extraordinary business.

4. PUBLIC FORUM

   4.1. BEV CHAMBERLAIN and Kathryn Doughty - AKACTIVE programme

   Bev Chamberlain, Project manager AKActive, and Kathryn Doughty, AKActive Youth Community Facilitator, addressed the Auckland City Youth Council on the 'AKActive Youth Programme' being conducted during the upcoming school holidays. Kathryn advised the Auckland City Youth Council with the YMCA website address that outlines the programme, http://www.nzymca.com/akactive/, for their information.

   That Bev Chamberlain, AkActive Project Manager, and Kathryn Doughty, AKActive Youth Community Facilitator, be thanked for their presentation regarding the AkActive Youth holiday programme.

   4.2 PANSY WONG - MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT

   Pansy Wong, Member of Parliament, addressed the Auckland City Youth Council on issues concerning new migrants to the Auckland area. Pansy asked Auckland City Youth Council members for their opinions concerning the use of 'ethnic labels' often associated with new migrants, and the need for more language options within the New Zealand schools curriculum.

   That Pansy Wong, Member of Parliament, be thanked for her presentation regarding new migrants in Auckland City.

5. RESIGNATION OF MEMBERS

   That the resignation of Te Waka McLeod from Auckland City Youth Council be received, effective from 18 June 2007.

6. COMMUNITY ADVISORS UPDATE

   That the report of the Community Youth Advisor, dated 11 June 2007, be received.

8. MEMBERS UPDATES

   Further written updates were received as follows:

   8.4 Brooke Duffield

   1. Advising the Auckland City Youth Council that she has been sitting
   2. Advising the Auckland City Youth Council that she will be sitting on the New Zealand Model United Nations in July.

   8.5 Kate Boersen

   1. Advising the Auckland City Youth Council that she attended the Annual Plan Hearing and the Anzac Project debrief

   8.6 Danielle Duffield

   1. Advising the Auckland City Youth Council that she attended the Rotary Model United Nations Conference, representing Russia;
   2. Advising that she attended the Dalai Lama's talk over the weekend;
   3. Advising the Auckland City Youth Council that she will be attending the Asia-Pacific International World Heritage Youth Forum in Christchurch.

   8.7 Dexter Henderson

   1. Updated Auckland City Youth Council of his involvement within the Urban Unity;
   2. Advised of the upcoming 'Step Up In Style' event to be held 22 June at Youthtown.

   8.8 Zachary Castles

   1. Advised the Auckland City Youth Council of the upcoming Executive Team meeting.

   8.9 Andrew Harland Smith

   1. Advised the Auckland City Youth Council that he is studying for exams;
   2. Advised the Auckland City Youth Council that he will be attending an Outward Bound camp during the summer of 2007/2008;
   3. Advised the Auckland City Youth Council that he may be going on an exchange trip to Spain in 2008.

   8.10 Harriet Spratt

   1. Advised the Auckland City Youth Council that she will be attending the Trampolining Regional finals;
   2. Advised the Auckland City Youth Council of an event that she has helped organise, 'EXO Day', as part of a initiative at her school

9. REGIONAL YOUTH LEADERSHIP CAMP FOR LOCAL COUNCILS - 29 JUNE TO 31 JUNE

   The Community Advisor tabled a draft programme and equipment list for the upcoming Regional Youth Leadership Camp For Local Councils to be held 29 June to 31 June 2007.
