PUBLIC FORUM
4.1. SENIOR SERGEANT ALAN ROWLAND, NEW ZEALAND POLICE - INTRODUCTION
Senior Sergeant Alan Rowland,
from the New Zealand Police, was in attendance to address the Auckland City
Youth Council on his role as the Auckland District Coordinator for youth related
matters. Senior Sergeant Rowland further updated the Auckland City Youth Council
on the progress of the recent New Zealand Police Act Review, and spoke on some
of the key points that have arisen from the consultation process, particularly
the need for their presence at major events.

4.2. JAN ZIEGLER-PERI - KIDSVOTING
Jan Ziegler-Peri was in
attendance to address the Auckland City Youth Council on the 'Kids Voting'
initiative as per her attached presentation.

AUCKLAND CITY YOUTH COUNCIL SUBMISSION TO AUCKLAND CITY COUNCIL'S
DRAFT ANNUAL PLAN 2007/2008 - RESPONSE TO SUBMISSION

- That the report of the Democracy coordinator,
dated 10 September 2007, be received.
- That Lee Manaia, Democracy advisor, be thanked
for her assistance in the preparation of the Auckland City Youth Council's
Annual Plan submission.
- That the Auckland City Youth Council's 2007
Auckland City Council Annual Plan submission and response be sent out to those
young people who attended the Annual Plan Youth Stakeholder Forum in April 2007.

'COCKTAILS WITH CANDIDATES' FORUM - PROJECT UPDATE
The Community
advisor, the Chairperson and the Democracy coordinator further updated the
Auckland City Youth Council on the progress, planning and the final steps in the
development of the 'Cocktails with Candidates' forum to be held 19 September
2007.

SERAPHINA KIM - PUBLIC HEALTH ASSOCIATION CONFERENCE 2007: TE
TORINO, REIMAGINING HEALTH
The Deputy
Chairperson advised the Auckland City Youth Council of her attendance at the
Public Health Association Conference 2007: Te Torino, Reimagining Health, which
she attended in July 2007. The Deputy Chairperson spoke on specific discussions
and workshops she attended at the conference, particularly noting the
symposium's on health within prisons, transgender health issues and young people
and wellbeing. The Deputy Chairperson spoke at length on the holistic view of
health which was a key theme of the conference.
