Change of name or mailing address

Please use this online request form if you receive postal correspondence from Auckland City Council and you need to change your mailing address. We don't want important information going astray. Changes can be requested for the following services:

  • Rates accounts
  • Building consent applications
  • Resource consent applications
  • Engineering consent applications
  • Health licences
  • Food premises licences
  • Dog registration
  • LIM reports
  • Bookings

You can also use this service if you change your name (eg after getting married) and want to update your details.

Instructions
  1. You must agree to the terms below to access the online service
  2. Once you click on the link you will find step by step instructions to take you through the process
  3. So that we can identify you, we ask you for a reference number. Please use the relevant reference, eg your property assessment number, dog registration number, building consent number, etc.

Please note:

  • the session will expire after 20 minutes so make sure you have everything you need before you start
  • when using the service we recommend that you use the navigation buttons provided within the screens. Use of the 'enter' key in some screens may have unexpected results
  • you will need any supporting information saved as TIFF files on your computer
  • close the browser window when you are finished.

You must supply a valid email address.

Change of mailing address

If you are not the property owner (ie you are a solicitor, property manager, etc) the request must be accompanied by supporting documentation on the appropriate letterhead.

Change of name

A copy of the appropriate documentation must be provided:

  • Marriage certificate
  • Change of name by statutory declaration
  • Birth certificate
  • Current valid passport
  • Copy of "Certificate of Incorporation" if the change is to a company name.

About this online service
Supporting information Include supporting information and possible sources of more information with your request to change details. The onus of proof is on you.

For security reasons we can only accept attachments in tiff format. To include information to support your request to change details, you will need to scan this and save it as a .tif file on your computer before you can attach it.

If you cannot supply supporting material in this format, please post the documents quoting the property assessment number as reference to:
Property Data, Financial Control, Auckland City Council, Private Bag 92516, Wellesley Street, Auckland.

A .tif file is a file format for storing images. Scan and save supporting information in TIFF format ending with the .tif extension.

TIFF is an acronym for tagged image file format

If you have a problem If there are a number of addresses with the same street number and street name, check the legal description and certificate of title to confirm the correct address.
