Why I'm passionate
about Auckland's CBD
Like the symmetry of a kaleidoscope, Auckland's CBD
needs to reflect all of its jewel-like elements. CBD residents, retail,
business, education, creative industries, workers and tourism are all equally
important and need an urban setting with the highest qualities of safety,
regulatory and urban design standards. The provision of user-focused major
capital infrastructure set in the most attractive public art-containing CBD
streetscapes is also important. This will provide a true, liveable 24-hour
pulse and ambiance attractive to Auckland's citizens and visitors alike.
Auckland's CBD needs to stake its claim as New Zealand’s urban planning leader
and continue to demonstrate leadership.
