Area of interest on CBD board

  • for the CBD to be an engaging and highly desirable destination for creative people, it must offer creative spaces, connectivity, embrace cultural diversity, engage on both high-touch and hi-tech levels, and achieve the environment the next generation aspire to enjoy, be proud of, and be inspired by
  • Auckland CBD has a critical role in enabling creativity and innovation to flourish, be seen and be experienced
  • it must provide a creative and welcoming environment to nurture creative people through interactive experiences that are inspiring and transformational
  • the creative industries are supported by an entire infrastructure, and are essential to Auckland and New Zealand's global competitiveness in terms of cultural identity, employment, investment attraction, and foreign exchange earnings.

Why I'm passionate about Auckland's CBD

Auckland is a lifestyle city. The CBD must aim to present a stimulating, inspiring, and transformational environment that represents the collective aspirations of those who live, work, study, visit and invest there. It must exude creative spaces that are interactive and engaging, and which enable current and future generations to think and act creatively. It must be a place that anchors our economic and cultural identity in the Pacific, that sits well with the ebb and flow of the volcanic cones, the sea and energy and spirit of many peoples - now and in the future.
