Garnet Road streetscape upgrade

Auckland City Council is committed to revitalising local shopping areas, so that they offer a safe and attractive environment for shoppers, workers and pedestrians.

The streetscape of the Garnet Road shops, at the intersection of Garnet Road and West End Road, had been lacking in character and had the potential to be improved.

We developed a concept plan for the area and aspects of the plan were incorporated into the footpath upgrade carried out in Westmere in 2006. The public were invited to comment on the proposed concept plan between 3 October 2005 and 21 October 2005.
