Concept plan
Following consultation with local residents and businesses, a final concept plan for the reserve was developed.
The key features of this plan include:
- a network of paths through the reserve
- a paved area with views out to Rangitoto and the harbour
- provision of a sculptural concrete seat, as well as timber seats and picnic tables
- retention of the existing Queensland box tree and planting of medium-sized native and exotic trees
- climbers and hedges installed to soften solid walls and fences on the boundary of the reserve
- wide lawn areas for informal active recreation
- signage to increase awareness of the reserve.
