Kingsland main street upgrade
The Kingsland main street upgrade aimed to create a community street that was
inviting, safe and celebrated the heritage of Kingsland.
The upgrade covered the business area on New North Road extending from the
intersection of Sandringham Rd and Bond St in the east to approximately 504 New
North Rd heading west.
In order to keep our promise of affordable progress, and keep rates
affordable, the council has proposed to defer the Kingsland main street upgrade
beyond 10 years.
The project
The Kingsland main street upgrade aimed to create a street that was inviting,
safe and celebrated the heritage of Kingsland.
The upgrade covered the business area on New North Road extending from the
intersection of Sandringham Road and Bond Street in the east to approximately
504 New North Road heading west.
The council had been working on ideas to
- improve and protect Kingsland's identity
- make the plaza a better place
- provide art, more greenery and space for outdoor events
- improve lighting.
