Mt Roskill skate park

Auckland City Council identified a need for a skate park in the Mt Roskill area.

The proposed design incorporated skating features and an additional half basketball court to provide for a multi-sport, street-like environment. The Mt Roskill Community Board resolved on 21 March 2006 that the proposed design be implemented, with minor amendments received during the consultation process (all within the existing budget).

The skate park will be built at the May Road entrance of War Memorial Park, in place of the current fitness trail. Many of the existing fitness trail components will be relocated along the length of the walkway. The basketball court will be adjacent to the skate park and will be included as part of the project.

This project was completed in June 2007.
