What the plan will achieve
The key objectives of the plan are to:
- improve pedestrian access and give pedestrians priority over vehicles;
- encourage public respect for the consecrated ground of the cenotaph and
court of honour;
- complement the museum and the tuff ring it stands on with appropriate tree
planting;
- improve the lighting in the museum surrounds; and
- enhance the heritage and cultural value of the area for the local
community and tourists alike.
