Remuera Mainstreets upgrade
The makeover of Remuera's Mainstreet was completed just in time for Christmas 2005.
The $920,000 upgrade of the suburb's town centre has been designed to create a unique identity for Remuera and to characterise
the area as the 'Gateway to Remuera'.
The revamp includes:
- new footpaths with basalt stone detailing
- new street lighting
- black enamel and bronze rubbish bins
- railings embedded with the Remuera crest
- new street furniture
- new planting.
The design was developed in conjunction with the Remuera Business Association, community groups and local residents.
It's hoped the upgraded streetscape will help to boost the economic vitality of Remuera's Mainstreet.
