How is a BDC established?
Business development communities are established by taking a poll of all the
owners and occupiers of commercial property in a defined business area. In the
case of Rosebank, it is all those properties northwest of Eastdale Road on the
Rosebank Peninsula.
To establish a BDC, 60 per cent of all those who vote in the poll must agree
to the establishment of the business development community, with those who vote
making up at least 30 per cent of all eligible voters.
