Introduction | Types of financial contribution | Interim financial contributions policy | Payment of financial contributions

Payment of financial contributions

The payment of financial contributions in the form of money are generally required to be made either:

  1. Prior to the issue of a certificate under Section 224(c) of the Resource Management Act 1991 in the case of subdivision consents; or
  2. Prior to the issue of the necessary building consent under Section 35 of the Building Act in the case of a land use consent.

There are some instances when payment can be made at a later date, or a bond may be entered into. Bonding of financial contributions for residential purposes or the reduction or the waiver of the payment of a residential financial contribution is assessed as a non-complying activity under the district plan.

Bonding will generally only be seen favourably where the sum to be bonded exceeds $30,000. Contact us for more information.

Financial contributions in the form of money can only be paid by bank cheque, electronic transfer or cash. Payments by bank cheque or cash can be made at our service centre at Graham St.
