Introduction
The Creative Communities Scheme is a partnership between Creative New Zealand
and local authorities to support opportunities for New Zealanders to actively
participate in the arts. Auckland City Council administers the Scheme on behalf
of Creative New Zealand to assist the delivery of arts projects that benefit the
residents of our city.
The Scheme provides funding assistance for projects that encourage and
increase arts participation that directly involve individuals, groups and/or
communities in the making or presenting of arts activities. Projects must take
place within 12 months of funding being approved. The focus is on people
actively doing and therefore experiencing arts by engaging in activity, rather
than attending or observing as an audience or viewer. The scheme will also
support projects that work with professional artists with a track record. For
more information see Eligibility requirements.
