Introduction

Community boards have a limited budget to provide grants at their discretion to assist community groups and other voluntary organisations operating within their communities.

Requests for this fund can be considered at any time during the year. Applications should be received by the relevant community board agenda closing dates in order to be considered at the following meeting. You should apply using the community board discretionary funding application form.

Who can apply

Any community group or voluntary organisation within the community board area can apply for a grant from the fund.

General application criteria

Funding applications must comply with the following criteria:

  • Projects should directly benefit the local community.
  • Funds granted should generally be used to 'top up' funds already gathered.
  • Applications must include full details of the project and budget. The board may request additional information.
  • Applications for retrospective costs will not be considered.

What to include with your application

  • The name of the group/organisation making the application.

  • The contribution being made by the group/organisation applying for the funding.
