Resource consent process

Application is lodged with Auckland City including an assessment of environmental effects and all relevant information

Application to be notified Auckland City has 10 working days to publicly notify the application and call for submissions
Application to be non-notified

Closing date for submissions is 20 working days after public notification.
Arrow.
Council officer's report and recommendations
Arrow.
A hearing may be held. If held, it will be
  • within 25 working days of the closing date of submissions for a notified application
  • no later than 25 working days from the date of receipt of the application, or the date on which the approval of affected persons (and any additional information) has been obtained, whichever is the later.

A copy of the decision will be given to the applicant and to all those who made a submission:
  • where a hearing has been held, no later than 15 working days from the end of the hearing
  • if no hearing has been held, generally 20 working days after the receipt of application or after the closing date for submissions.

The applicant or anyone who has made a submission may lodge an appeal with the Environment Court
