Auckland City maintains
trees in the streets, street gardens, parks, esplanade reserves and coastal
land. Please contact us to discuss any of the following issues relating to trees on
public land:
- stump removals
- pruning
- obstruction of views -
including traffic safety
- overhanging foot and cycle
paths
- growth into power and other
service lines
- damage, pest and disease
issues
- complaints about work on or
around street or park trees
- complaints about trees being
cut down.
Please contact us with the
following details:
- a description of the problem
- details about the location of the tree, eg location within a park, nearby
street address for a street tree etc
- your name and contact details, so that we can contact you to discuss the
matter.
If the matter is urgent, eg causing a hazard or health and safety
concern, or it appears illegal work or vandalism is being carried out, please phone
us so that we can act quickly.

planting programmes
In the street
Auckland City has a programme of street tree plantings throughout the city,
generally carried out from May to September each year. These are usually
advertised in City
Scene, or contact us to find
out more.
The district plan protects many of these trees. The schedules of notable
trees are available for viewing as follow:
Community plantings in parks
Auckland City residents have the opportunity to be involved with
Park volunteer
activities in local parks every winter.
These events are also advertised in the City
Scene.
