Community venues<< Back to Community venues main page Community hallsGeneral information | Conditions of hire | Apply for a discount on hireage fees | Additional costs | Locations Additional costsBondA bond of up to $400 is required for all bookings. This is payable in advance and is refunded between 10 to 15 working days after hall hire. You will be notified of any additional costs or on charges that may be deducted (see Oncharges below), otherwise the bond is refunded in full in the form of an Auckland City Council cheque. Please ensure that we have the correct billing name so that your cheque can be deposited. Call outsIf our contractors are called to a venue there may be a call out charge of $25 + GST. Hirers will be advised if this is applicable. Cancellation chargesSee Conditions of hire. Equipment set upHirers may incur an extra charge of $50 per booking if we need to set up and pack away our equipment. This is in addition to the equipment hire charge. Liquor licenceAll functions having alcohol must apply for a special liquor licence, this will take 25 working days to process and costs $63. An application form and owners consent letter is required. Failure to comply with this could result in the closure of your function and/or a significant fine. Noise complaintsCouncil officers may issue an infringement fine under the Resource Management Act 1991 for a prescribed value of $500 if non-compliance to a Direction to Abate Excessive Noise is detected. Security guardA security guard is required to attend the last 4 hours of all functions involving liquor, night time socials or at the discretion of Auckland City Council. A guard will be provided by Auckland City Council, at a cost of $112.50 to the hirer. The cost of the guard will not be waived if the hirer has their own security. The purpose of the security guard is purely for the protection of Auckland City Councils property not as security for your function. Set up/pack down/cleaningHirers are responsible for packing down, cleaning and removing any rubbish from the venue. Failure to do so will result in these costs being deducted from your bond or your bond being held. We can arrange for the venue to be set up and/or cleaned after your function.
