Hauraki Gulf Islands wharf user charges

Auckland City have a wharf user fee charging system in place, for commercial operators using the following wharves in the Hauraki Gulf Islands:

Waiheke Island Kennedy Point cargo wharf.
Main ferry terminal, Matiatia.
Old wharf, Matiatia.
Orapiu, eastern end of Waiheke Island.
Great Barrier Island Okupu, end of Blind Bay Road.
Tryphena, Shoal Bay.
Whangaparapara, end of Whangaparapara Road.
Rakino Island Sandy Bay Wharf.

Categories of commercial operators are as follows:

Category Fee category
Scheduled operators
Commercial operators who have scheduled berthing times with Auckland City, eg Fullers, Subritzkys.
Scheduled fees
Scheduled operators collect fees from passengers and forward to Auckland City on a monthly basis.
Unscheduled and casual operators
All freight vessels.
Any charter boats who are charging passengers whilst using the wharves.
Unscheduled fees
Annual fee of $300.00 + GST for commercial vessels less than 10 gross tonnes.
Annual fee of $500.00 + GST for commercial vessels greater than 10 gross tonnes.
This fee allows for unlimited use of any of the HGI wharves within that year.
Casual fees
Per berth fee of $30.00 + GST for vessels less than 10 gross tonnes.
Per berth fee of $50.00 + GST for vessels greater than 10 gross tonnes.
These fees are for every time the vessel berths at the wharf, eg picking up and dropping off people would count as two berths.
Recreational users
Non commercial or commercial boats using the wharves for recreational use, eg taking family or friends out for the day.
No charge
