To commemorate the centenary of the First World War, Auckland Council Archives has developed this exhibition and timeline featuring material from the Council Archives collections. In addition, our volunteers have transcribed and researched the names from several WWI memorials and rolls of honour from across the Auckland region and these are available here to search. Please use the tabs on the panel to the left to navigate and explore these resources.

World War I Index Search

These index databases have been created from content transcribed from war memorials and honour boards or from records the Auckland Council Archives holds about these memorials.

Our focus has often been on war memorials that were erected with some involvement by the former local authorities in the Auckland region.

Additional research into the soldiers from the memorials has also been conducted and this information is included where available.

This keyword search can be used to search for a person's name within all World War I-related indexes.

Alternatively, refine your search by selecting a particular World War I-related index from the list on the left.
