Birkenhead Roll of Honour Index

This index database has been transcribed from a programme for the official opening of the War Memorial Park at Birkenhead where the Roll of Honour was also unveiled.

Birkenhead War Memorial Park is a large reserve with bush and sports fields and various amenities for communities and sporting groups are located there. The acquisition and development of the park began soon after World War II. The Birkenhead Borough Council decided that a recreation reserve would meet the recreation needs of the borough and would also be a fitting memorial to those who had served in both World Wars. The War Memorial Park was opened 19 April 1958 by His Excellency The Viscount Cobham, Governor General of New Zealand.
