Onehunga War Memorial and Book of Honour Index

This index database has been compiled from information transcribed from the content of the Book of Honour of death casualties of residents of the Borough of Onehunga and off the plaques located at the Onehunga War Memorial Swimming Pool at Jellicoe Park.

Onehunga War Memorial Swimming Pool was built by Onehunga Borough Council to commemorate the citizens of Onehunga Borough who made the supreme sacrifice in World Wars I and II. Plaques of black granite with the names of those who served are at the entrance to the pools. Originally, the Book of Honour was on display inside a velvet lined case at the entrance where the pages were turned daily. Now the book is on display at the Onehunga Library. The swimming pool complex was opened in 1956.

At present the database only contains the names for World War I and is searchable by name. The database also includes notes on the regiment and the next of kin. Use the Browse button to browse the contents of the Name field. The search will return those entries that match your search criteria.
