Abstract An article about a public artwork completed recently at the Onehunga Community Centre. More than 7500 ceramic tiles fit together in the 35 square metre mosaic in the collaborative effort between two local Onehunga groups, the ARTPAD collective and the Auckland Studio Potters. The mosaic is the third of four art projects completed since the library complex opened in February last year. The mosaic was designed by Rhonda Jameson. Ceramicist Tom Barter was in charge of tile production and installation. Tongan artist Filipe Tohi's sculpture 'Hautaha' and a youth mural painted by Penrose High School and Onehunga High School students were the first two projects completed at the community centre.

Daniel Keys was knocked unconscious when attacked after a social night out with friends and put on life support on March 10, 2001.
