Looking south west from the corner of Pitt St, across to the shop frontage between France St (later named Mercury Lane, formerly Upper Pitt St) and East St. Showing the premises, left to right, of Hallenstein Brothers New Zealand Clothing Factory [#94], Prince Edward Theatre [#100], Bradstreets Emporium Ltd - drapers [#102], Stormont and Sons (James) - baker [#108], J R McKenzie - fancy goods [#110]. With a traffic policeman by the stop/go sign at centre left.
