Showing the graves and tombstones of Mary Ann Atkinson Close, John Close, Nathan Atkinson Close and James Walden Close in the Wesleyan section of Symonds Street Cemetery. The inscriptions read: Sacred to the memory of Mary Ann Atkinson Close, the beloved wife of John Close who was born at Fremington, Swaledale, Yorkshire January 6th 1814 and died at Easby, Ponsonby, October 24th 1883. 'Her end was peace'. Also John Close, who entered into rest May 13th 1892 aged 81 years. 'Perfect peace'. In affectionate remembrance of Nathan Atkinson Close who died July 27th 1879 aged 42 years. He was dutiful son a loving brother and a sympathizing friend. In loving memory of Nathan Atkinson, James Walden, second and third sons of James and Jane Close. Nathan born December 24 1879, died October 29 1883; James born September 13 1881, died May 11 1885
