Showing a parade of Imperial Troops on their way up Queen Street to a reception in the Auckland Domain (during the South African War). On the left can be seen the United Services Hotel (with 'Hancock's Hotel' sign at top), and Smith and Caughey's building behind, with sign for their 'Summer Fair'. On the right (half way along buildings) is an advertisement for Edson Chemist (John Edson - 269 Queen Street), and Charles Hemus (photographer - 270 Queen Street).Below this are signs for J.H.Dalton - Tailor (278 Queen Street) and E.H.Faulkner - Umbrellamaker (282 Queen Street).
