Showing Britain's giant airship, the R33 tethered just above the ground with many people holding the ropes before the trial flight from Harlow. The ship has R33 painted on her side as well as a circular design painted on her side and nose.Four gondolas can be seen suspended beneath the airship. The tests showed that it equalled or exceeded the performance of the Zeppelin. It was 670 feet long, had a diameter of 79 feet and a capacity of 2,000,000 cubic feet. It carried fuel for eight days running at 70 miles per hour and was capable of flying non-stop across the Atlantic and back. Further details are given under the caption.
