Description
Showing a large group of people including many children attending the Children's Day peace celebrations in Wellington's Parliament Grounds on 21 July. The statue of former Prime Minister Richard John Seddon is visible in the centre of the group. Soldiers and sailors stand in uniform to the left and many people in the crowd are holding umbrellas. New Zealand's peace celebrations were aligned with those of Britain for events on 6 and 19 July but some New Zealand communities held additional events, namely a day of thanksgiving on 20 July and a Children's Day on 21 July as shown here.
