An exhibition of revolution and reform from
the Sir George Grey Special Collections
1 August - 11 November 2012
Sir George Grey Special Collections
2nd floor, Auckland Central Library
This exhibition 'PROTEST! a cry for freedom' looks at universal themes of race, religion, power, land, peace, work,
gender and the environment which over the centuries have brought the ordinary man to react against the status quo.
These protests have taken many forms, some peaceful, others ending in bloodshed or death. Some have been immediately successful,
others have taken years to achieve their aims, and many continue today.
All items in the exhibition come from the Sir George Grey Special Collections, unless otherwise stated. Curators: Kate de Courcy, Robert Eruera, Georgia Prince, Iain Sharp
