Council news
Panmure roundaboutFrom City Scene, published on 12 August, 2007 Lane markings introduced by Auckland City Council at the Panmure roundabout in January this year have improved traffic safety, reduced crashes and made it easier to navigate. Initial data shows a reduction in crashes at the roundabout compared with the same period in previous years. The council has received feedback from people who say they feel more confident using the intersection, which previously had the highest crash record of any in Auckland city. In partnership with Manukau City Council, the council has monitored the roundabout and surrounding streets since introducing the layout improvements and is satisfied the changes are working well.
