Street performance policyFrom City Scene, published on 12 August, 2007 The Arts, Culture and Recreation Committee has endorsed a policy to encourage high quality street performances in our city's public spaces. The policy is designed to help entertainers carry out activities safely in appropriate areas. Free 12-month licences will be issued to street performers who agree to the policy's code of conduct. Arts, Culture and Recreation Committee chairperson, Councillor Penny Sefuiva, says quality, creative street performances are integral to our city's vitality. "The council believes that clarifying expectations around street performances will ensure the city attracts and fosters a wide range of quality street entertainment," she says.
