Outrageous Fortune dominated last week's Air New Zealand Screen Awards, with the TV series winning six awards. Auckland City Council sponsors the awards, now in their third year, which celebrate the creativity of our local film and television industry.

Some Outrageous Fortune scenes are shot in Auckland city and the council has a dedicated team to assist production companies to make use of our city's unique environment. "Auckland City Council has well established processes in place," says location manager Robin Murphy, "and it's always a pleasure dealing with (council staff)." Auckland City Council's commitment to a sustainable screen production industry for the region includes supporting Film Auckland, facilitating monthly Film Auckland Local Authorities Industry Group meetings, and permitting hundreds of film shoots each year.
