Tamaki Drive bus laneFrom City Scene, published on 26 August, 2007 Construction starts this week on a bus lane for the citybound side of Tamaki Drive, between Kelly Tarlton's and Ngapipi Road. The bus lane will operate on weekdays from 24 September, between 7am and 9am. Transport and Urban Linkages Committee chairperson, Councillor Richard Simpson, says the bus lane will give bus passengers a faster, more reliable journey into the city and benefit cyclists, who will share the lane. The council worked closely with the Eastern Bays Community Board and modified the project to address concerns raised during public consultation on the bus lane. Parking will not be available on this section of Tamaki Drive during construction or when the bus lane is in operation.
