Plan change for Newmarket

Auckland City Council has notified a district plan change for Newmarket. Councillor Glenda Fryer, chairperson of the Planning and Regulatory Committee, says the proposed plan change 196 provides for more business and residential development. "Newmarket has the potential to accommodate more people and more jobs and the plan change is aimed at guiding that growth in a way that protects the area's unique character and its position as one of Auckland's premier shopping areas." Submissions on the proposed plan change close on 10 September.
