Lunar Eclipse on its wayFrom City Scene, published on 26 August, 2007 Aucklanders will be treated to a rare astronomical event on the evening of Tuesday, 28 August, when the Moon passes through the Earth's shadow. This will result in the Moon, Sun and Earth being perfectly aligned and will see the Moon appear a red colour. Stardome Observatory is hosting half hour presentations between 8pm and 10.30pm to celebrate the occasion. Visit www.stardome.org.nz or phone 624 1246 for details.
