Otahuhu community worker

Auckland City Council and the Ministry of Social Development will jointly fund a new community development worker for Otahuhu. The council's contribution to this new role is one of several measures it is working on for the local community, including building a new recreation and youth centre, planning for a new swimming pool and library, and implementing alcohol bans in certain parks. Partnerships Committee chairperson, Councillor John Hinchcliff says the community worker will liaise with local organisations and leaders, support young people and families, and build on safety initiatives.
