Arch Hill cycle trackFrom City Scene, published on 16 September, 2007 Mountain bike enthusiasts will soon have an inner-city trail to enjoy. Auckland City Council plans to develop Arch Hill Scenic Reserve in Grey Lynn for mountain biking. The project, developed in partnership with the Auckland Mountain Bike Club (AMBC), will provide the community with opportunities to enjoy off-road cycling. Arts, Culture and Recreation Committee chairperson, Councillor Penny Sefuiva, says that the increasing popularity of mountain biking means it is important to have a dedicated facility within the city. "This project will also allow us to revive an underused park for everyone in the community to enjoy," says Ms Sefuiva. AMBC volunteers will assist with the site's design and development.
